Sixth Grade ELA Teacher

I decided to teach because of my high school Social Studies teacher, Mr. Smith, who had a unique teaching style that helped me see the world in a new way. I loved social studies and it was very interesting, but he personally engaged with me and enabled me to see my potential. Push students to achieve higher standards and they will eventually get there—and along the way, offer lots of praise. As a teacher, you’re going to be directly involved in the lives of your students and their parents. What I liked most about Columbus Arts & Technology Academy are the great teachers who were passionate about their classroom and students. They are one in a dozen and fortunately I had been lucky enough to be part of this team. CATA is nice, fun and very active. The teachers are so nice and CATA is one great big family. My class is the best. The teachers are supportive and have a sense of humor.
