7th/8th Grade Social Studies Teacher
My children were close to finishing school and heading off to college. I had enjoyed the middle and high school years with my kids. We talked about school often and I supported them with after school activities. I enjoyed watching them explore their world and become unique and independent young adults. I remembered that when I graduated high school I wanted to be a teacher. I decided that as my children moved on with their lives I could support other kids as they explore their world and develop into unique and independent young adults.
CATA families are supportive of their students. I have seen so many families come to performance nights, open houses, and parent teacher conferences. These special occasions are so much more meaningful for students when families share in their accomplishments. Students are proud to introduce me to parents and siblings. They are proud to show off hard work and receive recognition for their achievements. I hope all my students learn skills that will help them succeed at anything they want to accomplish. I want my students to remember me as their personal cheerleader, to always look for the silver lining of any dark cloud, and to never give up. I would love my students to develop an appreciation for history and a curiosity about the story of how we got to now.
