Building Substitute

Hello! I am excited to continue my career as an educator and building sub here at CATA. I spent the years of 2013 through 2019 teaching middle school in rural Alaska, and I hope the positive experiences I gained there can be used here at CATA. I chose to become an educator not only to teach students the content I’m passionate about, but to create a safe, fun, supportive space for all students so they can become the best people they can be in the classroom and beyond. I may be new to CATA, but based on the love and support I’ve already received from the CATA team I know that this will be a great school year. The 20-21 school year may have a lot of new elements and it may have a lot of things I have very little experience with, but my goal with students was and will remain to develop them as critical thinkers, ingrain an understanding of respect for all people (including themselves), and provide an environment where they can learn to the best of their abilities. I’m unbelievably excited for this school year, and am stoked to be a part of the CATA team!
