High School Social Studies Teacher

I love that CATA has such an open and affirming environment that allows teachers and students to thrive. Here is a little bit of information about myself. I am an alumni of Zanesville High School and Muskingum University. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in History and Theatre; so obviously, I enjoy history and theatre A LOT. I have history experience working at the John and Annie Glenn Museum as an archivist and an actor in their Living History. On the theatre side of things, I have done 30+ shows, playing villains, heroes, animals, and just about any other thing that would embarrass my family. In my free time, I like to perform for others in community theatre or as a professional clown (yes, professional) at festivals, carnivals, and parades or volunteer at the hospital. As your teacher, I truly believe in the power of learning. Teaching you is my passion! You are the reason I get up before dawn every day and come to school.

I chose to be a teacher because I wanted to change the world. I strongly believe that my students are the future leaders of the world (whether they realize it or not). I want to do all that I can to leave my change on the world through them. In my class, I try to make my lessons come to life and have you leave my classroom with a new understanding of the world and your place in it. Together, we are going to change the world. I hope you’re up for it.
