Intervention Specialist

I chose a career in education because I had a teacher who realized the importance of my potential that others did not see, nor wanted to see. She met me where I was and challenged me to travel the direction I needed to travel by providing educational opportunities to goal set and excel.

I admire the tenacious spirit of CATA families. The diversity of the student demographic and tenacious spirit of cultures makes it an interesting place to work. Also, the exchange of the diversity between students, staff, and families create an environment to foster growth and understanding that we are all one body of people with interesting differences.

My intended contribution this year is to make this year seem as effortless and seamless as possible for all students with as little disruption in services as possible. I will be pulling out old skills from my days of working for a digital academy, dusting them off, and helping my students learn using the new platforms. The curriculum adopted this year is extremely similar in nature to the curriculum I used during my digital academy days. Having a teacher who is very calm and comfortable with the platform will help make students feel and become comfortable with this new way of learning.
