Title One Reading Teacher

I was born and raised right here in Ohio. I mostly grew up in Mansfield (Go Tygers!) No that is not a typo, that’s how we spell it in Mansfield, but I went to high school in Pickerington (Go Tigers!) Spelled differently but also correct. My home consists of my husband, teenage daughter, Siberian Husky dog, and a matching black and white cat in the lovely small town of Bellville, Ohio. It is a long drive to work at CATA but it’s worth it. I chose a career in education because I love working with children. I love the “Aha” moment when students have when they learn something new. I love the joy and excitement for life that children bring. I also have a passion for reading. I really enjoy helping struggling readers gain skills and confidence. I admire how the CATA family is willing to jump in and help everyone else. I love assisting others and learning how I can improve as well. I love working as a team on a common goal and celebrating our successes. I love the feeling of belonging and the relationships we develop that carry over to the students. The students in all grades recognize other teachers that they do not have in class, as other resources for support and guidance. I enjoy the different relationships with students in other grades. My goal is to instill the confidence and skills that all students need to be successful, regardless of whether I have them in class or not. In other words, I will help all students realize their potential for success and develop the abilities they need. I will share my passion for reading and the belief that with hard work the possibilities are endless.
